Internationaal bokscoryfee Terry Smith overleden

Tot onze spijt bereikt ons het nieuws dat de internationale bokscoryfee Terry Smith is komen te overlijden.

Terry Smith vervulde menige functies binnen de AIBA boksfamilie: hij was actief als AIBA Compliance Unit Voorzitter, lid van de AIBA Executive Committee, AIBA Technische afgevaardigde, AIBA 3-star R&J (scheidsrechter en jurylid), AIBA R&J Instructeur, ere-Voorzitter van de AIBA R&J Commissie en tevens vervulde hij verschillende andere rollen binnen AIBA, de EUBC en zijn Nationale Federatie (Wales). Ook was Terry zeer betrokken als supervisor op de in Nederland georganiseerde EK´s boksen.

Onze voorzitter Boris van der Vorst schrijft het volgende over Terry Smith aan zijn internationale collega´s:

¨He will be remembered as a highly knowledgeable professional, who has dedicated his life to our sport. In the course of his career, he has gladly shared his knowledge with officials around the world, therefore contributing to the development of boxing. Mr. Smith’s legacy will be cherished by the world boxing community, including here in the Netherlands.
